Blades, Bars & Bows' is a trio of musical saw, vibraphone and cello playing classical music on the cutting edge. This
eclectic combination of instruments results in angelic sounds, soothing with good vibrations.
Available for performances at festivals, weddings, restaurents, hotels, etc. as on stage entertainment and as background music for events.
Short bios of members of BB&B:
Blades (musical saw) - Natalia Paruz, declared 'Master Sawyer' by the Westchester Philharmonic Orchestra and recipient of a medal of honor for her musical saw playing from the mayor of the Maison Alfort region of Paris, France, has performed with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Maestro Zubin Mehta and has been heard repeatedly on NPR's 'A Prairie Home Companion', including her performance with PDQ Bach composer Peter Schickele. Natalia has been a featured performer on numerous TV and Radio shows and at festivals around the world.
Bars (vibraphone) - Scott Munson, winner of the Most Outstanding Vibraphonist at the Notre Dame Jazz Festival was the 1999 Composer in Residence with the Goliard Ensemble. Recipient of a 'Meet the Composer' grant he has composed for numerous ensembles and has performed with many well known jazz musicians. His orchestrations have been recorded by Branford Marsalis and he has worked closely with Wynton Marsalis.
Bows (cello) - Lawrence Zoernig, has appeared at Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, and in Hawaii, Spain, France, Holland and Brazil. He has been winner of the Artists International and Joseph Fischoff Competitions and was a featured performer at the World Expo in Seville, Spain. Lawrence has also been cellist with the goliard Concerts, Mosaic Ensemble, Scandia Symphony, Con Brio Ensemble and Paragon Ragtime Orchestra, and has performed around the world on Cunard's Queen Elizabeth II, Vistafjord, Caronia, Royal Viking Sun and Sagafjord. He holds degrees from the Juilliard School and the Cleveland Institute of Music.
